Goal Statement
The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with Psychiatry.

Target Audience
This program is intended for healthcare professionals who care for patients with PTSD in psychiatric, primary care, and OB/GYN practice settings, including NPs and PAs. 

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • Implement guideline-recommended screening tools for PTSD
  • Recognize signs and symptoms of PTSD that are important for identification using diagnostic criteria
  • Formulate a plan for when to refer a patient with PTSD to a psychiatric specialist
  • Identify the pathophysiology of PTSD based on the latest data
  • Outline evidence-based treatment strategies for PTSD
  • Interpret recent clinical evidence for emerging therapies in the treatment of PTSD
  • Differentiate approved and emerging PTSD treatment options based on pharmacologic properties, including mechanism of action, efficacy, and adverse effects
