Target Audience

This proposed educational program is intended for primary care providers, including those who practice in family and internal medicine, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other healthcare professionals who manage patients with COPD.  

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this activity is to improve the knowledge and competence of primary care providers, nurse practitioners, and physician associates to optimize the diagnosis and management of COPD in primary care practice settings.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  • Analyze the most recent GOLD report updates and their impact on screening patients for COPD

  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with COPD based on current efficacy and safety evidence, guideline recommendations, and device considerations

  • Identify strategies for primary care providers to optimize patient outcomes and prevent COPD exacerbations
