Target Audience

This program is intended for healthcare professionals who manage patients with CIC, including gastroenterologists, primary care physicians, and GI-specific advanced practice providers (nurse practitioners and physician associates/physician assistants).

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this activity is to improve learners’ knowledge and competence in approaching patients with CIC by using a patient-centric, evidence-based approach to care that addresses the patient’s specific needs and leads to desirable outcomes and patient satisfaction. Additionally, the patient aspects of this program are designed to educate, encourage, and empower patients to receive optimal individual care and become active participants in shared-decision making with their healthcare team.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Analyze recent clinical trial data regarding the efficacy and safety of newer FDA-approved therapies for CIC

Clinical Care Options, LLC has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 0.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credit. Approval is valid until December 22, 2023. PAs should only claim commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Participation in this self-study activity should be completed in approximately 0.5 hours. To successfully complete this activity and receive credit, participants must follow these steps during the period from December 30, 2022, through December 29, 2023:
